Catrina is a Patent Scientist specialising in life sciences and biotechnology
Catrina has a technical background and academic and industry experience in the fields of biotechnology and life sciences.
Catrina completed a PhD in Microbiology, where her doctoral research focused on the development and mechanistic studies of synergistic antibacterial combinations. Prior to joining Gestalt Law, Catrina has held a postdoctoral research fellow position at the University of Copenhagen and has worked as a research scientist for a biotech startup. Her research primarily focused on the discovery and development of therapeutic compounds and the development of high-throughput drug and target identification technologies.
Catrina has particular interest and expertise in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, chemistry, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, pharmaceuticals and therapeutics, chemicals and chemical synthesis, and medical devices and diagnostics.
As a member of the patents practice group of Gestalt Law, Catrina assists with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution in relation to Australian, New Zealand, and international matters.
Catrina is currently undertaking a Masters in Intellectual Property at the University of Technology, Sydney.
